The Spanish Civil War was started on July 17, 1936 and it ended on April 1, 1939. The Spanish Civil War was fought in many different locations, the locations it was fought in were Peninsular Spain, Extra Peninsular Spain, Spanish Morocco, Mediterranean, Spanish Guinea, and the North Sea. The war was fought between the Republicans that were loyal to the democratically elected Spanish Republic, and the Nationalists who were led by a general by the name of Francisco Franco. The war began after there was a declaration of opposition by a group of generals in the Spanish Republican Armed Forces. The Nationalists won the war, General Francisco Franco then ruled Spain for the next 36 years, General Francisco Franco ruled spain from 1939 to 1975. The Spanish Civil War is often called the “dress rehearsal” for World War II.

Life In Andalusia, Spain In The 1930’s:
In Andalusia, Spain during the 1930’s it was a very bad place. It was a very harsh place to live in because of the sweltering heat, and it was by far one of the most underdeveloped places in Spain. The only thing that people did was farm, they planted wheat and olives. Much of the land in spain, was owned by the Catholic Church and absentee landlords. A very interesting thing was that in the 1930’s in Andalusia, Spain every family had to have had a pig. The Spanish Civil War really left a mark on Andalusia, Spain.

Blood Wedding Treatments:
Our scene for this project is going to project a mood of anger, worry and sorrow. We are going to present these moods by lighting the scene with a dark and gloomy red as well as a backlight and the color green. The red will represent anger and the gloominess of the color will represent worry from the mother and her sorrow a quote that can represent that would be "knives, knives...curse them all, and the wretch who invented them" that shows how she has an anger and sorrow because she is sad that she lost her husband and her other son and doesn't want anything that can pierce a mans skin around. So our model represents our play because it was split into 3 sections the vineyard, the house, and the grave site. It represents the scene because the house is just a neutral spot and the grave site we believe represents the anger and sorrow of the mother because she hates things that can pierce a mans skin and we believe that it portrays that, we also believe that the vineyard was a way of showing the happiness in the person and adventure.
So the colors we chose were red, yellow, and green. I think that the colors we are using are meant to represent the mood of the scene. The red is suppose to represent the mothers sorrow and anger and the green is meant to show life and adventure, and the yellow is just meant to represent the room painted yellow. We made the room yellow because like the first line of the play it says "a room painted yellow" and that's why we chose to use that color, we also used green and red because the green we believe is meant to represent the sorrow and anger of the mom and the green is meant to show the life and adventure of the play. We believe that the quote "knives, knives...curse them all, and the wretch who invented them" is a good representation of the color red and why we used it. We believe that the colors we used are very symbolic to the model.

Sound Design Treatment:
When creating as demo sound for this scene, I really took a lot of time figuring out how the scene made me feel. Ive realized that that scene made me feel gloomy and so then I took that feeling and searched for a song to act as the base of the sound demo to always keep the consistency of the gloomy feeling. The demo will start off with the sound of dripping blood to symbolize when the mother speaks about how she hates weapons that have the capability of killing people. The the song kicks in and the dripping blood sound fades away. The gloomy mood is starting to kick in more now. Then there will be three repeating sounds of a sewing machine. This symbolizes what the mother does at home alone most of her days. Then on the continuation of the song, you will hear a loud slamming of a door, this is the representation of the bridegroom walking into the kitchen. On continuation of the song you will hear a woman crying, this is representing the mothers sorrow and pain. Then finally at the end of the song you would hear another sound of a slammed door to represent the bridegroom walking out of the house to the vineyard. This song will only be playing in the beginning of the scene. It will be playing to the point of when the bridegroom leaves his home.
